Time for a confessional methinks. And what better way than to link up with Kirsty from My Home Truths for her I must confess... linkup. This week Kirsty's featured 'fess up is about how many devices we have and how we use them. Hmmm, amazing isn't it that you never think about some things until someone mentions it/them. Between the two of us here, we have two laptops, two iPhones, two non-iPhones (read, crappy work phones!), two iPods, one iPad (so far!) and a Sony Playstation. Now I use these items primarily for work, social media, music - you get the idea. The lovely Wayne on the other hand uses all of these devices to play/game on. See, I'm the grown up and he's a 51 year old child! Love ya babe ;-) There's also the most utilised non-tech device in our abode - the Nespresso coffee machine. One word - heaven!
This confessional also got me thinking about de-Vices that I have. Lets face it, I may have a few vices (yes, I'm well aware that will come as a shock for most of you), but they too come in useful at times. For example, I have been known to procrastinate. This has been useful as it's taught me to think on the fly and make things work at the last minute under high pressure - usually because I've been putting the task at hand off until the last minute. There's a whole lot more vices but I'll save them for another time!

I'm pleased I'm not the only one with excessive amounts of technology in the house - once I wrote it all down I was quite taken aback at just how many things we have! ReplyDeleteHi Kirsty, yes we love a bit of technology here and we don't have the excuse of requiring it for the children either. And anyhoo, it's exercising my brain which is just as important as exercising the body, right?!

Considering my addiction to blogging, social media etc I’m quite restrained with my techno gadgets – a PC and an iphone is it - and I only got the iphone at the end of last year!
ReplyDeleteWow Janet, I'm impressed with your self control, or perhaps that's just highlighting another vice of mine - no self control! Are you like me though with your iPhone? I seriously can't be separated from it or serious anxiety follows (yes, clearly another vice!).

I have so many more vices than devices. Maybe I should have confessed those instead: Chocoholic, cakie addict, procrastinator..the list is endless. Devices on the other hand: only a lap-top. *sobs*

Hi G, love your photo a day challenge photos....I always start the month well, and then forget for the rest of the month. This month will be different haha. I am not sharing my vices either...the public must be kept in the dark...too many to mention. I do love the iPhone, best invention ever I think.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, I totally get what you mean about the photo challenges. This year I had intended to do every day for the entire year, however as you can see I ran out of puff in late February. I'm going to try to get through April!
DeleteI have to agree with you about the iPhone, it was my first iDevice and I have a real issue with being separated from it - sad but true.

ReplyDeleteWe probably have what would be considered not many devices for this time in technology, but we have enough to keep us busy. The part that annoys me the most about them all is the line up at the charging dock!
I was very late getting an iPhone and always said "it's just a phone", now, I don't know what I would do without it! Ahh, how times change xo Sandra

DeleteI totally understand what you mean about the charging - there's always a device being charged here. As for the iPhone, I too resisted for a long time and then finally succumbed - the rest as they say, is history!
