It's all done! The June Photo A Day photographic challenge that is. I've thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and I've decided I will particpate in the July challenge, but more about that in another post. Anyhoo back to the purpose of this post, to show a snapshot of my take on the June Photo A Day Challenge. So here's my June in photos...

The jumper & the super hero
June Photo A Day - Day 29: Soft
June Photo A Day - Day 30: A Friend
The photo prompt for day 29 of the challenge was soft. My thoughts automatically went to a beautiful Alpaca wool jumper that my dad brought me back from a trip to South America a few years ago. It is so light and soft but very warm and is not prickly like sheeps wool. The sad thing is it's a bit of a snug fit this winter - hmmmm. Anyhoo, here's the pic...
June Photo A Day - Day 30: A Friend
The final prompt for this month's challenge is a friend. This is an easy one - he's been my best friend for almost 23 years. Anyhoo, here's a re-edit of a previous pic of my boy wonder, the lovely Wayne.

Into the pantry
June Photo A Day - Day 28: On the shelf
There's lots and lots of options for taking a photo for today's prompt of on the shelf. I had a plan - I would take a creative shot of a shelf at the shops on my way home from work this afternoon. Unfortunately I had a seniors moment and forgot completely! What to do? The first shelf I saw when I arrived home was in the pantry, so here's my photo - a shelf in our pantry.

Shower
June Photo A Day - Day 27: Bathroom
Today's photo prompt was bathroom. I decided to take a close-up in the bathroom for today's photo. Now don't freak out, it's nothing untoward! So here it is, my close-up photo of the shower head in my ensuite!
Shopping
June Photo A Day - Day 26: Where you shop
The photo prompt for day 26 was where you shop. I shop at numerous places however I usually do groceries at our local Coles supermarket. Real exciting I know! Anyhoo here's my photo of my local Coles supermarket.

Fridge door
June Photo A Day - Day 25: Something cute
Today's photo prompt was something cute. I did of course consider a self portrait, but thought that too much of a good thing might just be too much for you dear reader! So instead I took a photo of our fridge. Well to be a little more specific, a photo of a cute little magnetic plush toy that is stuck on the door of the fridge. Anyhoo enough rambling, here's my photo - the little flying fox on our fridge.

Shoes, shanks and sun
Today's post is a bit of a catch-up kinda post as I haven't posted my photos for a few days - no excuse other than I've been a slacker! ;-) Ok, here goes...
June Photo A Day - Day 22: From a high angle
I had planned on a spectacular shot for day 22's prompt of from a high angle. It was going to be a shot from the roof of the 9 story building where I work (I have connections!) however the day got away on me and I sadly missed the opportunity. Instead, I took a photo looking down at my feet! Well it is from a high-ish angle as I'm almost 6 feet 2 inches tall!
June Photo A Day - Day 23: Movement
The photo prompt for day 23 was movement. This was easy. Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny day and so I went for a leisurely walk along the shore of the lake to soak up some of the winter sun. While I was gazing at the water a group of people paddled past standing up in canoe thingys (technical term, trust me) offering up a perfect photo opportunity, so I clicked! Here's the result.
June Photo A Day - Day 24: On your mind
Today's photo prompt was on your mind. Well now what was on my mind when I realised I hadn't taken today's photo was what to prepare for dinner this evening. You'll be pleased to know that whilst I'm sitting here typing away, Lamb shanks are cooking away and will be served on mashed potato and accompanied by steamed greens. Anyhoo, here's some of the ingredients that were on my mind!

June Photo A Day - Day 21: Where you slept
I don't really have much to say about today's prompt of where you slept so I'll just post the photo!
PS: that's not a real dog on the bed!!

Love and memories
June Photo A Day - Day 20: Fave photo you've ever taken
Now this was a very easy one for today's prompt of fave photo you've ever taken. My absolute most fave photo I've taken is of the lovely Wayne and our beautiful little girl Sophie. I love this photo for a number of reasons:
- It's the two 'people' that mean the absolute world to me;
- Neither of them were aware I was taking the photo which makes it so beautifully candid;
- And lastly, it's a wonderful memory of our little girl who is no longer with us.
Now this is not a sad post, it's actually quite the opposite as this photo always brings a smile to my face and makes me happy.
Anyhoo, here's my fave-est photo I've ever taken...

The spot
June Photo A Day - Day 19: Imperfect
Today's theme for the Photo A Day challenge was imperfect. Ha, I thought I had this covered way too easily. I mean I'd just post a photo of myself right? Well no one is perfect and I'm certainly far from it! That being said though, I kinda thought there's probably enough shots of my mug in this month's challenge so time I thought of something else.
Then it dawned on me - one of the things that I use everyday and that the lovely Wayne has commented is all but permanently attached to me - my iPhone! More specifically the camera in my iPhone. There is a minute scratch or chip or something in my iPhone's camera lens which shows up in the top left corner of every photo I take even if I've cleaned it to within an inch of its life. It is in fact imperfect wouldn't you agree?! I've now overcome this imperfection by creatively placing it over something darker in photos or by cropping it out altogether. Anyhoo, here's a photo of a blank wall to illustrate the imperfection with my iPhone camera.

Inked
June Photo A Day - Day 18: Something we don't know about you
Today's photo prompt was something we don't know about you, or rather me. Something that most people don't know about me is that I have a tattoo on my upper back of an ancient Egyptian Ankh. Why an Ankh you ask.
I've been fascinated by all things ancient Egypt since I was a child and as an adult have always wanted an Ankh cross to wear as it symbolises life. Throughout my adult life I've had a number of these that I have either purchased or been given however none of them has ever felt right. When I turned 40 I had a kind of epiphany and decided I would get my first and only tattoo - a tattoo of an Ankh on my upper back. From the moment I had it done it felt right, like it was meant to be there. It's roughly 7cm (just under 3inches) from top to bottom and sits just below a T-shirt collar - it is after all for me and not a showy thing.
Anyhoo, the photo...
So there you have dear reader, something you didn't know about me. Is there something that most people don't know about you? Care to share?

I'm no bag lady
June Photo A Day - Day 17: In your bag
I got a bit of a surprise when I went to take today's photo, the prompt for which was in your bag. The surprise was what I found in my bag when I emptied it on the lounge. But before we get to the contents, I should explain that my bag is in fact a fashionable satchel and not a handbag! I should point out at here that my dear friend Pru does refer to it as my manbag or even my murse (man-purse)!
Anyhoo, the contents. I found 2 pens, tissues, gum, headache tablets, note book, building pass, key to desk cupboard, headphones and umbrella amongst sundry papers etc. The surprise articles were a red permanent marker and a tube of paw paw cream. Now I promise I'm not in the habit of doing graffiti so I have no idea why the marker is in there, however I was looking for the paw paw cream a month ago and turned the house upside down! Anyhoo enough of my rambling, here's today's photo - my murse and it's contents...
I have no idea what these contents say about me, but I'm sure a psychologist would no doubt make something of it all. What gems do you have in your bag? And what do you think they say about you?
Parked
June Photo A Day - Day 16: Out and about
Yes I know I'm posting this a day late but I simply didn't get around to it yesterday. Anyhoo, the theme for yesterday was out and about. Now I was out and about yesterday doing all manner of exciting things such as running errands and grocery shopping (see, I told you my life's excitement knows no bounds)! I therefore indulged in two of my favourite passtimes (not!) - navigating the dreaded shopping centre carpark hunting for a park, and fighting with a shopping trolley up and down the supermarket aisles. With my patience spent, my photo was snapped as I made my way back to the car for the quick drive back to the sanctuary of home. Here you have out and about in the shopping centre carpark!

Half way
I can't believe we're already half way through June and that I'm half way through the June Photo A Day Challenge. To celebrate the half way mark, I thought I'd do a quick post to showcase my first fifteen photos. So without further ado, here's my first fifteen...
I have to say that I'm thoroughly enjoying the challenge and am looking forward to completing the remainder of the month. Thanks for following my photo progress so far and I hope you'll stay tuned for more photos each day!
Hello yellow
June Photo A Day - Day 15: Yellow
Today's colourful photo prompt was yellow. Now on my way to work this morning I drove past a house that had a gorgeous yellow picket fence and I decided that I would stop out the front of it on my way home as it was perfect for today's prompt. That said though, when I was driving home I went to stop out the front of said house and noticed that as it was on a main road there was no parking for the length of the street - typical! Lucky for me, as I walked to my car this afternoon I happened on a very bright yellow car which I happened to photograph as a 'just-in-case' photo. Just as well I did as it is now my photo for today. Here it is, the bright yellow car!

Lunch time
June Photo A Day - Day 14: Time
Today's photo prompt was time. Now I considered taking a photo of an actual time however I had already done that for Day 8 (six o'clock), so I thought I'd take today's photo of something associated with a time of the day. As luck would have it I had an impromptu luncheon date with a dear friend today which provided a perfect photo opportunity. So here you have lunch time...

Coven
June Photo A Day - Day 13: Art
Believe me, the photo really doesn't do this painting justice.
Today's photo prompt was art. This was an easy photo for me today as I wanted to showcase one of a number of pieces that we have that were created by a very dear friend of ours. Without further ado, here's a photo of a painting titled Coven by Michelle (aka Leila) Callen.
Believe me, the photo really doesn't do this painting justice.

Wanna see my drawers?
Oh puhlease, do keep yourself nice. I wasn't talking about those kind of drawers!
June Photo A Day - Day 12: From a low angle
The photo prompt for today is from a low angle. There's not really a lot I can say about today's photo other than to tell you dear reader that it's a photo of a chest of drawers. The manner in which the photo was taken was all very technical if you please - I laid on the floor and pointed my iPhone towards the ceiling and clicked! Yes I know, my photographic prowess knows no bounds! Anyhoo, here's the photo...

The door monster
June Photo A Day - Day 11: Door
The photo prompt for today was door. Today I had a day of indecision when considering my subject(s) for the photo. I had considered all manor of doors for today including a traditional door, fridge door, cupboard door and car door to name a few. I then thought I'd be all creative and do a montage of all types of doors, well that was until I remembered that the theme was door - singular! Anyhoo the photo - here's the bedroom door with a little door monster (aka keyring) hanging from the handle.

Pretty in Pink
Now I know dear reader that those of you that are of a certain age will know that this blog post's title is the name of a classic coming of age movie from the '80s. Others of you may not! Anyhoo, the photo.
June Photo A Day - Day 10: Best bit of your weekend
Today's photo prompt was best bit of your weekend. The best bit of my weekend so far has been this evening. I'm tucked up on the lounge with the lovely Wayne in front of the TV on a cold winters night. It doesn't get any better than this. Well maybe, and it has. To top it off we are watching a fave classic from my youth - Pretty In Pink. I haven't seen this movie in years and I'm loving every bit of it - the music, the fashion and the hair. LOL.
Anyhoo, enough of my reminiscing, here's my photo - the lovely Wayne and I snuggled up on the lounge under a blanket.
As an aside dear reader, what's your fave '80s movie? Tell me in comments below. Or not!
